MOVING FORWARD AND NOT BACKWARD
The past is exactly what it is, the
past. Its funny how, when we are driving on the freeway and we observe an
accident on the said of the road, how the traffic seems to slow down, while the
accident is already off the roadway. We past the accident, and yet we still
looking in our rear view mirror at the accident. Why you may ask?
We tent to want to focus on the past
instead of what’s in from of us. You can’t look back and looking ahead at the
same time. It must be one or the other, if you are looking back, it will hinder
the decision to make a quality decision toward your future.
Just like the driver of the freeway, if
his/her head is turn to the back or fix on the rear view mirror, there is a
great chance of causing an accident, when all you had to do was leave the past
behind and concentrate on what’s ahead.
The past is only there to remind us how
to make things better in the future. How to avoid making the same mistakes
again or how to duplicate and make better what was done before. In other words,
take a glance at the past when you need too and keep moving forward.
If you had a bad experience, and its
long gone and forgotten, trying to remember it will only surface rage and anger
and frustration. The Apostle Paul tell us in Ephesians 4: 26-27, “In your anger
do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not
give the devil a foothold” Don’t ponder on the anger, let it past, because it
will take up resident.
Too often I see too many people wasting
so many times on things that’s gone and never to return. Frustrating them and
fighting a battle that they can’t win. The energy and time should be spending
on building the future. However, to overcome keep looking back in your rear
view mirror, you must stay focus on your goals. Only then you will see the
accidents and incidents begin to get smaller and smaller. And before you know
it all attentions is focus on what’s ahead of you.
