MAKE IT COUNT

Listen to the Parable of the Ten Servants in Luke 19, (NLT) form the mouth of Jesus. First I want you to understand that when Jesus speaks in parables, you have to listen with a spiritual sense. In other words, He is saying a short simple story intended to illustrate a moral or religious lesson. It’s an earthly story with a spiritual truth.

Jesus said, “A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return. Before he left, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver, saying, ‘Invest this for me while I am gone.’ But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want him to be our king.”

So many great gifts and talents we were blessed with. For a person to say I don’t have the ability to accomplish the job should be illegal and category as outlaw. Jesus left great gifts for the Kingdom of God and marvelous talents for the world. What more could we ask for. He said utilizes those abilities until He comes/return, so go ahead and use what you were blessed with. You don’t have much time left, because He is soon to come, however, it’s still adequate amount of time for you to make an impact in society.

“After the nobleman was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were. The first servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!”

The only how you would get a return from what you have in your procession is by investing. Some may say that’s a risk; however, life is a risk in whatever you do, good or bad. When you wake up in the morning and walk out your door, that’s a risk. The Bible say that the just shall live by faith, that’s a risk. It’s a good risk; however, that’s a risk. Whatever you do in life, you are taking a chance. So invests your gifts and talents, and expect a great return. What is this great return? The king said,

“Well done, the king exclaimed. You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your rewar”’ You will be blessed for your faithfulness. You will be rewarded for you commitment. There is no greater reward for you to here the Lord say to you, will done. You have to make whatever you do count.

“The next servant reported, ‘Master, I invested your money and made five times the original amount”

Here we see that this servant did not gain as much as the first one, however, he made an investment and gain a return more that he invested. If you intended to move up in your employment or elevate in your calling, you must put in the time and work with what you got. And the only way you could do that is by investing your natural resource. If you are good with your hands or have a creatively mind, invest in it. You will be surprise to see what you know could be you goal to great success. This goes for ministry as will as natural. Work with what God gave you to work with. Because this servant work his gift, here it is once again, “Well done, the king said. ‘You will be governor over five cities.” Investing on the word of God will always give you a promotion.

“But the third servant brought back only the original amount of money and said, ‘Master, I hid your money and kept it safe. I was afraid because you are a hard man to deal with, taking what isn’t yours and harvesting crops you didn’t plant.’

Investment is like planting seeds. If you don’t take the seeds from the barn and put it in the earth, it will never give you a return. You cannot be afraid and timid to pursue your purpose in life. The king said to this servant, you wicked servant, the king roared. ‘Your own words condemn you. If you knew that I’m a hard man who takes what isn’t mine and harvests crops I didn’t plant, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it. The objective here is for you to do something with your life that will enable you to get a return. Don’t sit on or store up your gifs, doing that it will serve you or gift giver no purpose. Here is the spiritual aspect of this parable.

People who give there life to Christ (born again believer), they are provided with gifts needful for their business, and from those to whom he gives power, he expects service. “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:7 NKV)
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (1 Peter 4:10 NKJV) As much is given, much is require.
