PURSUE PURPOSE
If there was a way that you could catch time and make it slow down for your purpose, its possibility that when the end of your road come calling your name, your note book of your life occurrences just may not be empty. However, you must make life your priority to maintain its quality and integrity.
Time, is like a NASCAR on its last lap about to finish the race in first place. It’s not waiting for anyone to catch up. Whether we do something with our life or not, time is constantly moving at a rapid pace, uncontrollable, but yet controlled by no one but itself.
You go to sleep, you go for a swim, you walk, or you watch television etc, time is a nonstop procedure.
In the blink of an eye your life could be taking away from you. Yes, we know that there is a starting point and an ending point to our life, but if I open your notebook of what you accomplished and read your accomplishments, did the value increase in all that God entrusted you with. O how many times I heard people say I wish I could do it all over again. If I had a chance I would do it differently. However, do you know it’s never too late to? If you are still amount the living, then you have adequate time to accomplish some of the things that you might miss during your neglected moments.
It was on a mother’s day when I decide to take my boys to the cemetery to place flowers on their mother’s grave. While we were visiting the grave, the memories of the past began to reflect on how at an early age she was taking away from this world. At the age of thirty six is not enough time to say that she had done all that she could while she was alive. Yes there was good time and bad times, however, I believe her time was cut short due to unfortunate situation.
As I look at her tome stone which tells a story of her arrival and her departure. Nothing significant of what she did was written on that stone plated pallet, just her name and two dates, her birth and he death. This reminded me of what life is really worth after you’re sucked into the place of a different world. You are just names and dates which carved into stone. The moral of this is the time while you here, you must pursue purpose to its fullest, till you have nothing left to give, make it profitable and worth while, not in vanity and temporal possessions. So at your final examination, you note book would not be blank.
“Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 1 KJV) The words of a wise man, (King Solomon).
Solomon was a person who had much fame and recognition through out his rain as king of Israel. According to the Bible, he was the wisest man in his time, God bless him tremendous with wisdom and knowledge, and a great abundant of wealth. However, in his last moment of his kingship, he left some words of warning, taken from his past experience. He said.
What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. (Ecclesiastes 1:3-8 NIV)
Life is precious and tender; it’s fragile like a baby in its infant age. It needs to be handled with care and concern in order for it to blossom into something marvelous. It needs to be handled with love and tenderness. This may sound strange to a person who thinks that life would last for ever, but reality say that we come into this small and complex place call the planet earth for a short time. And one day our number will come up, and we have to depart from this world. One day you are here and the next you vanished into a total different glory. We need to make the most of the time God allow us to vacation on this earth, because tomorrow is not promise, even for the wealthiest and most famous people, time is limited.
Life is like a notebook, with limited pages inside it. Each page represents a specific day and time for a special task. You carry this book with you wherever you go; your every day activities are darted down in this book. At the end of you road, your book is open and read out aloud so you could here what you have done during you life spend. You are going to be evaluated by not how long you live, but by how well you live, and certainly by the works that you have done.
You must treasure your time with all diligent and carefulness. Unfortunately we cannot stop the day from moving forward, if you do not get out from its way it will run over you. Then you are left with only memories of what was or could have been done.
Life should never be bases on you accomplishing material things. Of course, success should be attainable but not worshiped, acquire but not seek after, real success is more that riches by it’s self. Remember that riches are what you have, but wealth is who you are.
“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” (Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV)
You have all the ability to create wealth; you have the opportunity and the creativity to make a better and prosperous life. However, take care you don’t fall into the trap of seeking after possessions.
As you analyzed life, many has build a chamber into success, only to find out at the last moment that they wish they would have spend more time with their family. The kind of vehicle you drive or your prestige title means nothing at the end of your life.
Although we should and must achieve curtain goals, and we teach about how to do that effectively, what’s more important is how we fill the space between entering and leaving mother earth. Our time is set by God and we cannot change that. Many people invest much time and money into such things as tummy tucks, face lifts, wrinkle remover etc. however, that still cannot un age the age or stop the time. What we can do is control the thing we have control over, change what we can change, and what we cannot change, we live with it. In the end, you are no more than the things you have done, the places you have visited, and the events that occur in you life. Life is just a notebook of moments which have been dratted down. It does not matter how long it takes to fill your notebook. All that matter is what you accomplish during the space from past to feature. In others words, what you do while you are in the presence.
