Spiritual leadership

Of all the occupation, a “Leader” lives with the greatest tensions between being a servant and a leader. Jesus poses a dilemma for us when he says, “whosoever will be great among you let him by your minister, and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant’ (Matthew 20:26-27) As we look at this dilemma Jesus posses, this indicates that for one to get further or productive, he/she must first give. Or another way for saying this is, to be a leader you must follow. On one side of the self contradictory statement is our image of a leader, a person with power, having the ability to inspire enthusiasms, interest in others by means of personal influence, and impressive achievement. The trouble begins when we try to reconcile that image with our thoughts about what a servant should be – ready to submit to others, modest and reserved, not praised and honored. Trying as we might, human efforts to combine these qualities into the role of the servant-leader fail us. Accordin...

How is believing a necessary part of your life

You cannot do anything and approach it with a positive mind unless you believe. According to Zig Ziglar, “If you want to reach a goal, you must “see the reaching” in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal” Inside every human is a volcano of success waiting for the moment to erupt, when that volcano erupts, miracles happen, but you must vision the eruption before it happened. In other words you must believe that it will happen. Just like an ad endorser, if you advertised a product that you yourself do not believe in, then the whole thing is moot, isn't it? Then you must believe, and have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully. Thus you must believe before you act. It's the same way with life. You cannot go around doing things just for the sake of it and not really put your heart and soul into it. You ha...

What causes unnecessary worries and anxieties?

I think that this day and age calls for lifestyles that are busy, fast-paced and absolutely hectic. As a result, there seems to be not enough quality time being spent. For example, most people wake up; grab a cup of coffee on your way out the door. You might sit down and have something only it you have children or a spouse, but nine out of ten times so probably don’t finish your breakfast. You then get on the freeway rushing trying to bet the traffic, it you get traffic then that’s another forty five to an hour. You get to work and the only time you get a break is at lunch time, but you have to hurry up and get back to work before the boss open his/her mouth. You might get a fifteen minutes break now and then, but what is fifteen these days. Fifteen minutes in this time is like a couple of minutes. At the end of your work day, you have to go through the same procedure with the traffic to get home. If you have children, that’s a second job by it self. By the time you get the house i...

It is said that Angels are real and living amount us, the question is, what you believe? Is it possible that the same person that you past almost everyday on the street corner asking you for a dime or a quarter is an angel? Is it possible that your seven grade teacher, who always seems to touch your heart whenever she speaks, is an angel? How about when you were feeling not so good, and when you prayer, you felt something came and touch you gentle, within minutes you were feeling better, was that an angel? In other words, angels are Heavenly beings sent by God to convey His message to and for. This might be a hard fetch for some, but the truth of the matter is, in Scriptures, Angels are said to be guardians sent by God to watch over the human race, to deliver his message, to guard and protect us from danger, to do battle with ...

Preparation for success in 2011

What many fail to realize is success comes with a price, and a heavy price at that. Whatever area or expertise you are pursuing will cost you plenty if you want to be succeeding at a higher level. Especially if you are doing something good that will help and improve other people lives. If you think that the enemy will just give you free course to exceed and promote good without any interference, you are in for a heart breaker. This is why he is called the enemy, because he will throw everything, even the kitchen sink at you, so you could give up. Okay, you want to be successful, do you know what success it? The achievement of something planned or attempted like fame, wealth, or power. This may not be your intention, but when you are successful, these attachments come with the package. When you are pursuing success, the strangest things seems to always come up, money problems, not enough time, my family and friends don’t agree with me, it’s to much work, I going to quit, maybe I...

Mediate on the WORD day and night.

What is Meditation: This means to think carefully about something. If you look around, you will certainly be exposed to many ways to meditate; however, the main objective is to create mental discipline in whatever you do. All you need is a small space for you to sit comfortably, preferably in a quiet location. Close your eyes and “observe” your thoughts. Whatever thoughts enter your mind, simply let them go. Although you may find many ways of meditating, the best way to meditate is through prayer. Prayer is a good example of spiritual meditation, though it does not have to be religious and is certainly not specific to any kind of religion. Anybody with a relationship with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit can practice this by asking spiritual guidance, wherein God ‘speaks’ and you ‘listen’. In this type of meditation, we can start by asking a particular question, and we clear our minds so that we can ‘listen’ to the answer. This is referred to as two-way communication between y...
